Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is a reliable and accurate method for helping to identify mineral imbalances (deficiencies or excess) and heavy metal toxicity. Unfortunately we live in a toxic world, where we’re exposed to numerous metals and chemicals that disrupt our mineral balance and overall health. Stress, nutrient deficient diets, improper supplementation, and inherited mineral deficiencies can also cause mineral imbalances. When this happens we end up with symptoms and diseases that are difficult to remedy if the mineral imbalances are not corrected. That is why HTMA is one of the first tests we recommend when you’re working to uncover potential health saboteurs.

HTMA is a non-invasive test that requires a small amount of scalp hair (although pubic hair can be used if absolutely necessary) which is analyzed using standard technology that has been in practice for 75 years or more. Hair analysis is a measurement of what's been happening over the past three to four months, because of this we gain a bigger picture and can better implement protocols.

Despite the fact that a few will claim that HTMA is inaccurate and not valid, there are many studies that suggest otherwise. When done correctly - the sample is properly collected, the lab doesn’t wash the sample, and the practitioner interrupting the test knows how to properly analyze the results - FYI it’s not as simple as what you see is what you get.

Minerals are the foundation of our health. They support the development of bones and teeth, help us to balance and maintain optimal pH levels, help maintain fluid balance, support proper nerve function, muscle contractions, energy production and enzyme reactions. Without the proper balance of minerals, our cells begin to malfunction.

We need calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, zinc, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum, and all of the other minerals and metals to be in proper balance in order to experience optimal health and when these minerals are out of balance we experience many different symptoms including but not limited to …

… fatigue and weakness
… muscle cramps
… numbness or tingling in the fingers
… poor appetite and digestion
… constipation, bloating, or abdominal pain
… decreased immune system
… poor concentration, brain fog
… irregular heart rhythms
… hair loss
... weight gain or loss
… skin infections and conditions

We use Trace Elements lab Profile 1 which tests for 35 elements, however we also add boron because we feel it is an important mineral that should be evaluated. The 36 minerals being tested include calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, copper, zinc, phosphorus, iron, manganese, chromium, selenium, boron, cobalt, molybdenum, sulfur, uranium, arsenic, beryllium, mercury, cadmium, lead, aluminum, germanium, barium, bismuth, rubidium, lithium, nickel, platinum, thallium, vanadium, strontium, tin, titanium, tungsten, zirconium.

We also look at significant ratios and understand that what we see isn’t always as it seems. Like all things, interrupting HTMA results goes beyond what we see on the surface. When combined with an in-depth health and lifestyle analysis, we’re better able to get you started on the correct protocol for helping you to restore optimal health.
